Location: St Albans, Hertfordshire
Salary: £35,000 to £55,000 per annum (based on full-time hours)
Job Type: Part Time, 3 days per week, 20 hrs in total

The Opportunity
SMT Recruitment are currently working with a well-established accountancy practice based in St Albans, who are looking to recruit an experienced Tax Manager to join their team on a part-time basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tax professional who is looking for a varied and rewarding position within a professional and supportive working environment.
The successful candidate will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of clients, ensuring tax compliance requirements are met whilst providing professional advice and guidance on a range of taxation matters.
Key Responsibilities
Preparation and submission of Self-Assessment Tax Returns for individuals.
Preparation and submission of Corporation Tax Returns for limited companies.
Preparation and calculation of Capital Gains Tax liabilities and returns.
Managing client tax compliance requirements, ensuring all deadlines are met.
Providing advice and guidance to clients on relevant tax legislation and regulations.
Liaising directly with clients regarding tax queries and ongoing requirements.
Dealing with HMRC correspondence and enquiries as required.
Maintaining accurate client records and ensuring compliance with current tax legislation.
Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with clients.
Skills and Experience Required
A recognised tax and/or accountancy qualification.
Previous experience working within a tax focused role, ideally within an accountancy practice.
Good working knowledge of Personal Tax, Corporation Tax and Capital Gains Tax.
Previous tax advisory experience or experience working with HMRC would be advantageous.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Excellent communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with clients.
High attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
